Tiombe Preston

Ms. Preston will facilitate the workshop on Sexual Assault, scheduled for the afternoon of Tuesday, March 20, 2007. Tiombe Preston is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 12 years experience as a feminist therapist, educator, and activist. As the owner of a private practice and consulting business, she provides individual and group therapy, consultation on curriculum and program development, clinical supervision, oppression/diversity training, clinical training, and speaking engagements for social services, universities, youth programs, crisis services, and counselor/mentor certification courses. Her specializations include feminist therapy, sexual and domestic violence advocacy for people with disabilities, communities of color, and other anti-oppression work. She provides many of these services as Clinical Coordinator for the YWCA Sexual Assault Crisis Services in Compton . She is also the Program Manager for the California Black Women's Health Project where she directs projects to end health disparities for Black women and girls in California and manages a statewide Advocate Training Program that trains health policy activists and educators, on issues including health, mental health, reproductive justice, anti- sexual and domestic violence, and public policy initiatives. She is a Core Faculty member of the California Victim Assistance Academy at California State University (CSU) Fresno and teaches part time in the Master's in Counseling program at CSU Long Beach.
