American Correctional
Association
The American Correctional Association is the largest and oldest
international correctional association in the world. ACA serves all
disciplines within the corrections profession, including
professional development and certification; standards and
accreditation; and publications and research.
American Jail Association
The American Jail Association (AJA) in a national, nonprofit
organization dedicated to supporting those who work in and operate
the nation's jails. AJA is the only national association that
focuses exclusively on issues specific to the operations of local
correctional facilities.

The American Probation and Parole Association is a membership-driven
organization consisting of practicing or retired probation, parole,
and community corrections professionals, as well as academicians;
researchers; members of the legislative, executive, and judicial
branches of government; community volunteers; and corporations with
an interest in criminal justice and community-based corrections.

Association of Paroling Authorities, International
The Association of Paroling Authorities, International exists to
promote parole as an effective tool for public safety. The
organization brings together decision-makers and practitioners who
believe in a person's ability to change and that gradual
reintegration into the community under appropriate supervision is a
more effective guarantee of public safety.
Correctional Education Association
The Correctional Education Association is an affiliate of the
American Correctional Association, serving educators and
administrators who provide services to students in correctional
settings.
National
Association of Blacks In Criminal Justice
The National Association of Blacks in Criminal Justice seeks to
focus attention on relevant legislation, law enforcement,
prosecution, and defense-related needs and practices, with emphasis
on the courts, corrections, and the prevention of crime. Among its
chief concerns is the general welfare and increased influence of
African Americans and people of color as it relates to the
administration of justice.

Criminal Justice Association
The National Criminal Justice Association represents state, local,
and tribal governments on crime prevention and crime control issues.
Its members represent all facets of the criminal and juvenile
justice community, from law enforcement, corrections, prosecution,
defense, courts, victim-witness services, and educational
institutions to federal, state, and local elected officials.

Sheriffs' Association
The National Sheriffs' Association is a non-profit organization
dedicated to raising the level of professionalism among those in the
criminal justice field. NSA has been involved in numerous programs
to support sheriffs, their deputies, chiefs of police, and others in
the field of criminal justice in improving job performance and
service to the people of their jurisdictions.

Governors' Association
The National Governor's Association (NGA) is the collective voice of
the nation's governors and one of Washington, D.C.'s, most respected
public policy organizations. NGA provides governors and their senior
staff members with services that range from representing states on
Capitol Hill and before the Administration on key federal issues to
developing policy reports on innovative state programs and hosting
networking seminars for state government executive branch officials.
NGA also provides management and technical assistance to both new
and incumbent governors.

Association of Counties
The National Association of Counties (NACo) acts as a liaison with
other levels of government, works to improve public understanding of
counties, serves as a national advocate for counties and provides
them with resources to help them find innovative methods to meet the
challenges they face.
